This beloved holiday classic will return to the Harrell Theatre in Collierville, TN in December of 2023. The Collierville Ballet, Collierville's pre-professional regional youth ballet company, presents the full-length Nutcracker ballet with professional guest artists dancing the leading roles of the Snow Queen and Snow King and the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier Prince.
The Act I Victorian-style Party Scene introduced our audience to Drosselmeyer, a clock and toy maker who happened to be closing his shop early to go visit his niece Clara at her family's Christmas Party. We meet Clara, her family and a whole cast of characters. Our exciting Battle Scene is filled with fanciful, sword-fighting mice, dancing toy soldiers, and a larger-than-life Nutcracker Prince that escorts Clara through the Land of Snow where swirling Snowflakes are conjured by the sparkling Snow Queen and Snow King of the Winter Forest.
Act II opens with Graceful Angels poised on clouds as they herald the arrival of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince to the Kingdom of the Sweets. Twirling Chocolates, graceful Ribbons Candies, leaping Candy Canes, Marzipan Mirlitons and dancing Gingerbreads performed for Clara and her attendants.
Lastly, The Waltz of the Flowers announces the arrival of the radiant Sugar Plum Fairy and her elegant Cavalier as they dance their Grand Pas de Deux before bidding Clara a fond farewell. Clara drifts across a glittering night sky and awakens from her deep winter sleep to discover her beloved Nutcracker gifted to her by Drosselmeyer. Was this simply a magical dream or did this winter wonderland actually exist?
Tickets for the 2023 Performances of The Nutcracker will go on sale in August of 2023.

Our mission at the Collierville Ballet is to provide our community with quality arts and humanities education, cultural outreach events and performance opportunities; and to encourage, challenge and inspire individuals to achieve their own personal best through the performing art of dance.
Our Philosophy...
It is our holistic approach to the arts and humanities that helps to provide our company dancers with the necessary life-skills to pursue a professional career in dance as well as in other areas outside of dance and the related arts fields. We believe that training should not just be confined to the performing arts but should encompass experiences that encourage each dancer to be a well-rounded individual. So we instill in our dancers - etiquette, discipline, mutual respect, confidence, the ability to work as a team and to encourage one another as individuals.
One team...
We support each other, creating a warm, nurturing environment for our company members to maximize their potential and reach their personal goals. Our company dancers can be found in some of the most prestigious dance companies and arts organizations in the world - including the American Ballet Theatre, The Julliard School, and on Broadway.
Versatility...
Our dancers are provided with professional instruction in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern dance styles which allows our dancers to quickly adapt to a broad range of styles and genres. Our dancers are given wonderful performance opportunities to learn and perform classical repertoire and contemporary works. Our company dancers hold leading roles in productions and have ample opportunities to learn the craft of theatre production and performance.
Respecting our heritage...
We honor the knowledge of the arts and humanities passed down to us from generation to generation. We ensure that our dancers are educated in the history of classical ballet and grow to understand and appreciate all forms of dance from a wide variety of cultures as a artistic treasure for all people to enjoy.
